Emotional Machine | Chongqing Light Festival | Chongqing, China | 2025

Emotional machine reflects on the complexity and diversity of the emotional side inherent in human nature.
Based on an adaptive and complex biological system, emotions, often underestimated, represent ways of processing
information interpreted in different cultural contexts, which prove essential to our survival. This ability of the human brain to generate subjective experiences and consciousness distinguishes it from other mechanical machines.
However, the subjectivity inherent in this combination of disparate experiences, both positive and negative, gives rise to different versions of ourselves.
Just like the Bian Lian masks, the challenge involves managing emotions and accept each of them as a fragment of ourselves.
